Wine Notes
The Albariño grape has seen a significant rise in popularity and availability over the last few years Produced in Rias Baixas – an area famed for its seafood and fine dining – this opulent white makes for sophisticated summer drinking and is a wine that is sure to become a firm favourite.
From the most southerly part of the Rías Baixas DO, close to the Portuguese border, the grapes for this Albariño are grown in an exceptionally mild microclimate which provides a higher sugar content and a lower acidity level than other wines. Aged in oak, it’s also kept on its lees before bottling to provide a complex but fruity Albariño with distinctive peach and soft fruit flavours. textured and aromatic with hints of well integrated oak and plenty of ripe tropical fruit – a wonderfully refreshing alternative to the usual suspects.
